artSong - Amos Garrett and the Eh Team
Friday June 13th - Canmore Miners’ Union Hall - 8:00 pm - $25.00
presented by Swan Homes
Alberta’s premier blues guitarist and Juno Award winner, Amos Garrett, is certainly one of the most accomplished guitar players working today. Amos plays better one-handed on an off-night than most guitar players can on a good one. Guitar Player magazine calls him "one of the most lyrical and original guitarists playing today...his single note solos and melodic figures are so distinctive that it is virtually impossible to mistake them for anyone else’s." This promises to be a great way to kick start artsPeak 2008.

artSplash - Project Rain Barrel
Paint a Rain Barrel!
Two year’s ago the Rocky Mountain Flatbread Company connected with Canmore Collegiate High School students and the Rocky Mountain Soap Company to investigate how they could convert some of their waste to value added products. We all worked together to convert used coconut oil drums that were being sent to landfill to beautiful rain barrels painted by local artists which were then auctioned off at Artspeak. The project raised over $8,500.00 over the past two years which the students donated to The Lamphouse Theatre of the Arts in Canmore and the ASCENT program at the High School.
